Well the girls went to Wal-Mart and bought the store out, cost about $2.50. Things are pretty cheap except the stuff from America.
We went out to dinner with the group tonight. We ate lots of interesting foods. It was pretty good and we found out that Kendall LOVES tofu, the girl can't get enough. Jim had to eventually stop her after the 3rd one. We have opened our minds up to new things, you all would have be SHOCKED at Dez, she tried everything, this is the spicy capital and she ate it in stride, our favorite was the bamboo and peppers! Oh and the meal was like 10 courses and a "fine" restaurant where reservations are required, and it cost $6 for our family!

We took Kendall out for a walk on our own today, Wow!!! We would get swarmed by people wanting to talk to her and us. Our guide gave us a card that reads in Chinese that we adopted her and are taking her to America. At first people glare then they give you the thumbs up! You can not believe how happy and responsive people are to us, one lady told Kendall "Your momma and poppa, good to you, take you to USA". You cannot go anywhere without people staring. We were warned by our translator to have her in many layers or people will get mad at you. Well the "Clothes Police" will get ya, We had her in 2 shirts , 2 pants and a big snow jacket, plus a
warm hat, not good enough, one old lady cme up to Dez and zipped her jacket around Kendall, as you can see in the picture she was plenty warm. People would come up and feel Kendall's clothing and jesture to us to put more clothes on her. I guess the rule is, if she can put her arms down, not enough layers! They believe that many layers protect the babies from the environment, hello how about some environmental controls on your cars, and no SMOKING EVERYWHERE!!!As for Kendall, she is starting to really come out of her shell, we are seeing more and more of her personality. We have heard her little voice now which is because of her big brother, I had here babbling looking at a picture of Chandler on the computer!

Kendall still hates baths, but we will get her used to this, what a concept, bathing your baby, again something the Chinese do not do, we still can not get over that they do not believe in bathing babies! And according to Cindi never in the winter, that is just not done. We explained to Kendall in the US we just have issues with body funk :)
Our guide Cindy is amazing, she is from Beijing and will be with us the entire trip, she and Dez were talking about the formula, and she says to Dez " I am not sure why you Americans think we Chinese are lactose in tolerant, we drink milk, eat yogurt and only some people have allergies to milk products". She went on to explain that as of 10 years ago only the babies were given milk with the food cards, in the last 10 years as the economy has changed they can all afford milk, she said she did not drink it until she was in her 20's. So we changed Kendall to milk based formula, Enfamil can be purchased at where else but good ole reliable Wal-Mart! The cost is the same here too, just like at home.
Oh and Dez and Cyndi have agreed to disagree on the begging here in China, Dez has not stopped giving every young child begging on the street corner a few Yuan. However, Cyndi says it teaches the kids to not get a job, to not work, their mothers are healthy they should work! Well Dez says that it is not the child’s fault the parents choose to beg, this is what the child has learned, so why should the child not get some money, this is not like our beggars, they are not getting money and then getting loaded, they are eating with the money! One group about mugged Dez for her KFC sandwich! It is not as bad as the begging in Mexico, but it is sad when you have this tiny little girl asking for 1 Yuan which is like a dime to us!
Before we go tonight, we wanted everyone to know your comments have meant so much to us, the tears are flowing reading your guys thoughts, and that on the other side of this world people are falling in love with Kendall, just as much as we are! Thank you everyone for being there for us, for sharing in our adventure!
Chandler you have an AWESOME time at Disneyland tomorrow, we know you will have a blast! xoxoxoxoxox

Mr. Jim, Ms. Dez and Kendall,
I saw the pictures and video and I think that it is beautiful to see your baby. I am really excited to see the baby in person. Over here things are going along as usual. I am going to go to camp soon. Oh by the way my babysitting rate will be very resonable because you are our friends, after my babysitting class that is...Keep up the posting of the pictures they are so cute to see what you guys are going through. Have a safe trip.

Its so strange, I get up in the morning and run to my computer to see where you are and what is new on your trip to China. It blows me away that there is Walmart in China, and that food is so cheap. Kendall seems to be so relaxed and just enjoying your love. Its amazing to watch. She will learn to love bath time soon all baby's love to splash as soon as they figure out how much fun it is to get Mom and Dad wet as they watch you in the tub. I can't wait to see what happens tomorrow.
Hugs,
Shannon
I get up early every morning to see what you are all up to on this wonderful adventure. Kendall is an absolute doll and your words of love about her spread out to touch all our hearts. You thank people for following along with events. I thank you for allowing me to be there with you with all my heart and soul. Sharing these moments has been wonderful. Love you all.

No matter where you are my thougthts and love are with you. On this journey and forever after.
Staying "in touch" thru this amazing world of the internet is such a blessings...hearing your voices, seeing Kendall is a blessing.
Look's like you will have to stock up on tufu! I loved the way she kicked her legs and squirmed when Jim didn't get the spoon to here in a "timely manner"...she is such a doll.
All my love to the "three" of you!
DAD~
I loved the video, Kendall is so cute. It sure looks like she's getting used to you and your loving care in a hurry. The first thing I do when I get home from work is go see what you guys have been up to, it's so great to see the pictures, but the video's are the best!
Love, Aunt Barbara
